Good Morning World,
What does free speech and a bad chip on your shoulder give you? Venting potty mouths. Yup, twitter seems to have been turning into a venting post of outburst rather then informative updates these days. But wasn’t twitter always a venting post? I always found Twitter to be the self promoting paradise for people to talk about things, thoughts, events, and of course themselves.
And it seems more then ever people are NOT tweeting before they think and people are getting fined for their tweety comments. Do we even have freedom of speech anymore or has the US turned into a lawsuit happy practice in our modern society making money at any given insult? Can people no longer critique? Will you also get fined like Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks? $25,000 fine for criticizing a referee on Twitter seems pretty extreme.
I say give people the freedom to tweet and if you don’t like what they say then fight back with a debate. Or better yet, stop following them! As long as it is just opinions and not defamation then grow up!
I am going to cry all the way to my lawyers office and whine about how someone said my sense of style sucks on Twitterland.
I agree with Ms. Moore’s publicist Stephen Huvane. As he put it, ““No one wins in these situations.”
Don’t we have more to worry about in this world then what people say? There are many families out there struggling to pay mortgage and put food on the table, let alone keeping their job in this difficult economic time.
As a society we should focus more on solutions rather then complaining, FREE TWEET I SAY!
