About the G33k Girl
I am a natural born g33k and I am very proud to be one. I remember when it was considered “NOT COOL” to know about computers. I started with the social media boom before the internet was even created. I use to be a part of the BBS Board social phenomenon back in the 90’s. Some affiliations of boards that I belonged to are: Arena BBS, Infinity BBS, 4Next BBS, Dreamcatcher, Noah’s Ark, and Atomic Cafe. (and if you want to find your own blast from the past BBS I found a cool website: http://www.bbsmates.com/)
I was introduced to technology at a very young age. My uncle is the owner of one of the leading mainframe security software companies and at the bright age of 11 years old I was already learning about mother boards and software development. I was intrigued with computers and found them absolutely fascinating. (Yes, I thought DOS and CMD lines was sexy. ) I would spend partial summers helping the family business with its yearly conferences which brought in high end government officals from all over the world. I never realized at 13 years old I was brushing elbows with the leaders in microsoft.
Times have changed immensely since the late 80′s early 90′s and social media has grown from small BBS boards to a world recognized movement. It truly is an exciting time in the technology world and I feel honored to be a part of it. Everyday I am learning new technologies and researching latest trends. For the most part its keeping up with the constant change …. moving faster then the speed of light.
Anyone remember the Commodore 64 (C64) ???
